WHAT ARE ESSENTIAL OILS?
Distilled from their plants usually by steam or water, essential oils are the concentrated version that can be used for their beautiful fragrances and therapeutic benefits. Have been used for thousands of years for health and beauty, essential oils are now more widely used all over the world. They are believed to treat many ailments, uplift moods such as depression and anxiety, used as natural household cleaning products.
ESSENTIAL OILS ARE NOT FRAGRANCE OILS
Although they are very popular for their beautiful aromas, essential oils are not perfumes or fragrance oils since they are all naturally extracted from their plants, and not made with artificial chemicals that can be harmful to the human body. For example, there is no such thing as a Cotton Candy Essential Oil. The name is a giveaway that it is a fragrance oil since there is no cotton candy plant.

ESSENTIAL OIL USE METHODS
Diffusion: Essential oils are diffused usually with water and released into air. This method is great for setting a relaxing and calming mood.
Topical: Essential oils are applied directly onto skin. Most commonly used for stress relief, mood stimulant, treating nausea and muscle tension. Many oils are also made with lotions to ease stress and to help relieve skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, acnes, sun spots, irritation. Diluting essential oil with water of a carrier oil is recommended for topical use.

Lavender: Probably the most popular and loved essential oil. Lavender has a soothing and calming scent which promotes relaxation and its anti inflammatory benefit helps relieve of tension. Other great benefits in Lavender are help promotes healthy skin, reduces appearance of imperfections, soothes minor cuts and burns, relieves headaches, and is a great mosquito repellent. Lavender is also an antibacterial, antifungal, antiseptic agent which makes it a great disinfectant cleaner.
Peppermint: There are so many uses for peppermint. The menthol property in peppermint helps promote alertness, relieves tight achy muscles, tension headaches, congestions, cough, upset stomach, nausea, and exhaustion. It is also a great insect repellent. Peppermint is also an antibacterial, antiviral and antiseptic oil.
Frankincense: The "King of Oils". Some people find it's distinctive aroma to be very relaxing, peaceful and grounded. Frankincense also a great use for the skin, reduce appearance of fine lines, dark spots, wrinkles. It has been known to ease headaches and seizures.
Melaleuca ( Tea Trea ) : Melaleuca makes a great skin treatment and cleaning product. It is a natural antibacterial, antifungal, antiseptic which makes it a great cleaning agent for home and body. Melaleuca has been used to treat blemish, acne, minor cuts and as a natural immune support. Melaleuca is also a great insect repellent.
Lemon: An all natural antifungal, antimicrobial, antiseptic, lemon makes a great household cleaning product. Lemon also helps ease coughing, sore throat, allergy.
Geranium: This oil has a calming scent which helps eases stress. Geranium is a great oil to use for beauty upkeep- skin and hair. It gives the skin a healthy glow and tones muscles, improves circulation, relief PMS and helps control bleeding. Can also be used as an insect repellent.
Clary Sage: There are many different benefits to this oil. Besides promoting a relaxing mood, Clary Sage helps relieve menstrual symptoms, supports hormone balance for women, and promotes healthy skin.
Patchouli: Patchouli has a distinctive soothing aroma. Patchouli is also known for soothing inflammation, promotes skin healing and relaxation. It can also be used as an insect repellent.
